**repost from the Office 2007 forum where I was told my question was inappropriate and told this is where I need to go**

Hi,

I've got a database that was created using Office 2000.

I'm having a problem with subdatasheets with it that is driving one of my users, and therefore me, crazy.

She edits data directly in a table. I know that's a no-no, we've had the conversation and there is nothing I can do about it...

Anyway, this table (tbl_Employees) has a subdatasheet set in properties (tbl_Donations). She also goes in and changes the subdatasheet property to tbl_activity when she uses the tbl_Employees if she needs to record volunteer activity instead of donations. the linked field stays the same between the tables, Person_ID.

When she does changes the subdatasheet to tbl_activity some of the subdatasheets still show donations instead of activity. Hitting the refresh button doesn't help.

The only thing I notice that is a little different is person id field:
tbl_Employees Person_ID
tbl_Donations Person_ID
tbl_Activity person_id
but i've seen nothing to suggest that case-sensitivity would be an issue here.

Another user who has Office 2003 doesn't have this problem and another user who still has Office 2000 doesn't experience the problem either.

Is this just a Office 2007 issue? Could a service pack 2 install fix it?

Is there a proper way to change the subdatasheet in Office 2007 that is a wee bit different from the other versions? She selects the whole sheet and then changes the subdatasheet from tbl_Donations to tbl_Activity. Are we skipping a step?

Thanks In Advance

You seem to have answered your own problem .. the problem only manifests itself in acc2007 therefore its a 2007 issue. I am not well versed in 2007 however I would update 2007 with he latest service pack to see if it resolves the issue. Also maybe there is some else with more exposure to 2007 reading this that can shed some more light.

Better yet build her a better interface ... the fact that she changes the subdatasheet properties .. wow
