Sub-form data in form text labels 1

Im trying to use an expression in a form text label to relate to data in a subform.

Specifically Im refering to the first record of the subform (Quotes) where there is a field price.

Can I refer directly to the subform or do I have to set up a query refering to the table.

Sure you can David but with a Text Box,
In its control source something like:
=Me![NameOfYourSubFormAsSeenByYourMainForm].Form![YourFieldNameOnTheSub]

I tried:

=[Me]![tbEquipQuotessubform].[Form]![FOBPrice]

but get #Name?

Any thoughts?

Yes sir:
=Me.[tbEquipQuotessubform].[Form]![FOBPrice]

and check that your subform is really called that when you click on it once through the main form. Now back to that other!

If it's still acting up try this (Has to work!)

=[tbEquipQuotessubform].[Form]![FOBPrice]

wacky brackets...why's it always got to be brackets... Gord

Morning, Hi and Thanks David! Hit F1 to see your built in Access help or if you would like to pick up a book to read by the fire instead, check at

http://www.microsoft.com

and find Microsoft Press. There's also a wonderful book "Access 97 Developers Handbook" (probably have a 2000 version by now) with sample disc and more. It's by Sybex and I'd bet you can find it anywhere you choose. But don't forget; the place for good help, even if a little foggy is right here! Gord
