Hi,
I'm having a frustrating problem in Word. I have a Heading 2 style, with settings "based on style" and "style for next paragraph" both set to "Normal". Yet when I create a heading (select "Heading 2" from style dropdown, then type my heading) and hit enter, the next paragraph is also Heading 2. What glitch am I hitting here?

Dreamboat,
Thanks for stepping in. I briefly looked at the help on your FAQ site, and will investigate in more detail when I have some more time. What, if anything, would be different when working in W2000 rather than 95/98?

I meant Word2000. I'll take a look within the next day or so. I hope your instructions will also solve another annoying problem, where I get prompted for saving normal.dot everytime I leave Word, regardless of anything has changed. Thanks for the help!

It very well may, Rob. Tho sometimes you need to tell it to save it the first time... and then the problem goes away.

Word 95/7.0? NO. The instructions are not valid for that version. Let me know. I am not POSITIVE about the instructions for that version, but can probably give you steps that won't hurt if it doesn't work. I didn't know anybody still used 7.0. [tongue] Anne Troy

No, I now save normal.dot automatically, to be rid of the alert, but it didn't go away upon saving - once, or dozens of times. My version, for the record, is Word2000 (as in my post above) - indeed I haven't used Word95 in quite a while :-)

Okay...then I didn't understand the reference to 95/98...
Please clarify if that's an issue. If not, just be on your merry way.
