Stupid question, 8.1 license DS only means Digital Station Only?

Is that what it means, only Digital stations? Is there another license for IP stations, or are they licensed individually now? I'm just confused why they say DS only and want to make sure I order the right upgrade.

Only using it to upgrade a 406 to 6.1 for now, but I'd like to use it to swap out for a 500 in the future and need to make sure I can use my IP stations.

Should I order 8.0 instead?

There is no such license.
There are two licenses 1 for small (till 32 extensions) and a normal (for more then 32 extensions and expansion modules.
Maybe that is where the DS is mentioned?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Indeed, what is the part code for the licence? Perhaps whoever you buy from has confused matters by giving it a silly name :)

270399, for large, more than 32 users. They put *DS Only* in the description so it scared me off a bit.

Will they be able to add this to my old serial dongle? Are the serial or parallel dongles still usable with current software?

I don't know about parallel but serial can be done.
This license allows you to upgrade to 8.1 or lower, that is all.
If you have DS modules then you can use them but if you have IP phones and VCM channels then you can use them.
If you order the small license then expansion modules (DS or analog) will stpo working.
I guess that is the confusion and probably not mentioned very well.
