I registered a MS Access DB in the ColdFusion Single user server administrator, how do I include it in my Studio, when I select DataSources in Studio all I have is a folder with the name of my datasource. I verified my datasource in the administrator. Help!

My environmemt is my home PC using MS PWS/MTS with Windows 98, Access DB, Coldfusion Single User Server, CF Studio, and dreamweaver.

Have you tried clicking the plus sign on the left of your datasource name in CF Studio? Have you tried to execute a query on the datasource? Are you sure you are not looking in your directory explorer (you should click on the "Database" tab on the left side of your screen in Studio.) Try this, if it still doesn't help post again! <webguru>iqof188</webguru>

Thank for trying to help, currently I know PWS/MTS is running and the error I get is in Studio when selecting LocalHost 'The connection to the server cannot be established' end of story, I don't know why, the database is verified registered, the examples also registered also don't showup, is there some additional password that may be needed to open in Studio? The help files say once registered they sold be available? There is no + sign on the LocalHost!

I await your reply!!!!

Yeah, that sounds familiar. What you should do is add a server (RDS Server), name it "LocalServer" for example, and see if it works then. Make sure you have RDS enabled in the CF Administrator. Hope this helps.

Didn't make it, I created a localserver within RDS, don't know how to enable it within Adm?

My PWS/MTS local network is running, the Access DB is verified within ADM along with the CF examples, in face the example application work correctly within my server network, I can select and recieve data back from sample DB's. Problem seems to be between Studio and ADM CF single user server? The Single User Server and Studio are in differant folders (cfusion\database vs allaire\studio 4.5) both defaulted on load...any problem here?

Note: within CF Adm, the source control has not been set up for RDS...is this the enabled you mentioned?

Also note within PWS the home dir is C:\inepub\ my data is stored under cfusion\database....is this a problem?

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found my own fix, Allaire identified a problem with CFRDSServer.exe for windows 95 & 98. They have a fix with a new exe that corrects the RDS to Studio problem mentioned. Go to their fix page for Studio, find error 'Connection to server cannot be established', pickup fix Zip and download and replace!! It works!!
