... and the Idle and Session Time are set to Never... What could be the problem? Student can not have access to their mapped drive where they can access their the document in the server, so they need to log-off and log-in again to reactivate the connection.

Does this happen on every client? Which OS are they running? Do you have more than one group policy in place (check all OU's, including domain)? When was the last time this worked properly? What SP is installed? Are they logging in locally, directly connected on the same LAN as the server? Does this happen when you map a different/separate network drive?

Some students never get log-off, some other do. They all have a different mapped drive by their login names. Students are grouped by classes. They sometimes log-in from different computer, but they are still log-off after 5 minutes. We are using windows 98 workstation and they are not roaming users.

Are all the shares that they are mapped to on the same logical drive? Does the problem follow the entire class? Try implimenting the same group policy on all the classes and see if that helps. Also, as before, apply the latest Windows 2000 Service Pack
