Somehow switchboard got "joined" to individual user, rendering the switchboard almost useless. Any attempts to use switchboard are cut off by it bouncing over to the joined line and attempting to call joined handset.

Only functional now by enabling "night line", bypassing switchboard altogether and picking up night line from various handsets.

Re-booted entire phone system, only to return to same status.

Found some references to "Already Joined" in the coordinator guide, but nothing about how to UNdo it.

Thanks for any help!

Sandy

That doesn't seem to be it. And we can "pick up" the call on both the user console and switchboard (by pressing the button - therefore not stuck) - they can talk to each other, but when both hang up the call is still "joined"...

Not my area of expertise but have you tried physically unhooking the user console that is "Joined" and see if it is freed up?

Test by replacing the problematic phone you might think the buttons are not stuck but over the years I have found all kinds of liquid spilled on/in phone and dead bugs in some.

Just removed that phone from service - put in another, which worked fine, but it never cleared the problem off the switchboard....which is the BIGGER problem...

And when I plugged that handset in at another desk, the join reactivated itself on that phone as well.

Again, never at any point cleared the switchboard error....

Could be I guess you are talking about a CP 60 when you say switchboard, same thing all programmable keys could do a feature * 0 to check keys maybe one is a transfer or conference key anywho same thing stuck key maybe liquid or depressed cover look at CP 60 from a flat view and see if you notice a depression in the case.

Okay! When I went to examine the switchboard for any stuck buttons and couldn't find any, I decided to disconnect the side piece that displays which extentions are in use, figuring that it could function without that if necessary, but at least the switchboard phone would be able to be answered.

Well..........when I unplugged that, it took the switchboard phone down with it. :(

But when I plugged it back in and waited for the re-boot, IT WAS CLEAR!!!!! *happy dance*

So it was some kind of confusion between the two switchboard components.

Thank you for all your help!

Sandy
