hi i want to be able to punch out a policy at school that will use strict filtering when the kids go to google on the internet/images ...
under preferences on the google home page it allows you to select this strict filtering..
in GPO's it allows me to to give a home page/url to send it out to the kids.. however the preferences are not set when they arrive at google...

if strict filtering is selected i am able to get rid of this image in images type "yuk" in google images search and u will see what is not good for 5-12 year olds.. can any one help!!
using a different web site u might say i seem to find a lot of viruses on other sites is why i wish to stay with google!!

Stand up wherever you are, go to the nearest window and yell as loud as you can, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'

I've banned google images at schools before and made them use altavista images instead, the family filter is on by default and you can ban the page that allows them to turn it off.

When you are the IT director, it's your job to make sure the IT works. If it does work they know already and if it doesn't, they don't want to hear your pathetic excuses.

u say the family filter is on by default how did you punch that out to the system, yes great idea to ban the 2 links to turn off and on!!!

Not sure i follow. What i mean is that the first time a user visits the Altavista images page the family filter is turned on, i just banned the link that would enable them to turn it off. It uses a tracking cookie that is generated on first visit.

Oh are you trying to set this using an Active Directory policy? If so i don't think you will be able to i've set this in the past on a proxy server.
