Microsoft Word underlines street addresses and street names in black wide-spaced dots. Is there anything useful that can be done with this? I know that if it underlines a word in red or a phrase in green, I can right-click on it and Word gives me some information or options.

tools - autocorrect options - smart tag tab - uncheck "Address"

I'm sorry. That's not responsive to my quesion. I wanted to know if there is anything useful to be gained from this marking, not how to get rid of it. However, it there is nothing useful, I guess I might as well get rid of it.

Have you checked out Smart Tags in HELP? Only YOU can answer your question.

Skip,

Tooth Company Freeze a Crowd! and
Many are Cold, but Few are Frozen![tongue]

when u type a name in Word, if the smart tag is checked, it gives u an option to insert the address automatically from your contacts list in Outlook

OK, I looked at "Smart Tags" I see where it might be useful if I were typing or reading a letter, if it worked. But if I left-click or right-click on the tag, nothing happens, and anyway its not a letter. So I guess I'll just turn it off.
