Hi,

I have a machine running windows xp home edition. I have had to do a repair install, and the machine is now running ok. BUT when you look in device manager all hardware is ok except the display adapter. The actual group does not exist yet alone the actual adapter. I have tried installing a different video card to try and get it to actually detect a card, but this has not worked. I have also tried to manually add hardware, but there are no devices listed under display adapters and so I cannot even add a standard vga adapter.

Has anyone come across this before, and if so do you know a fix?

Cheers

Paul

Any improvement if you check Device Manager while in Safe Mode? Also see what is listed if you select Show Hidden Devices from the View menu. Try Scan for New Hardware Changes in the Action menu (highlight your computer name at top of list to see this option).

Thanks for your reply linney, but I've got it sorted now. I had to reinstall the agp driver for the mobo to make it work.

Cheers

Paul
