strange problem with my mic

Earlier this week my microphone was working fine. Now all I get is a fuzzy sound. I'm very uneducated in this area but would like to get this problem fixed. I'm not certain what sound card I have, but I took a screenshot of my device manager and the device I thought might be my soundcard. Here it is:

Also, I ran a test on my sound hardware. I got these errors:

Try uninistalling and reinstalling the sound card drivers.

Thanks for the advice, but like I mentioned, I'm not sure what sound card I have. I'm not quite sure how to reinstall my sound card drivers.

You've got the intel AC97 audio chipset....(thats your soundcard)

go into devce manager, and delete it, re-start your PC and it should either re-install it by itself or ask you for the driers
