strange problem in intel board 845grg

Hallo

i have a intel p4 with a intel desktop board d845grg and 1 dimm 128 mb ddr 266 cls2.5
i try to put another one of 256 mb same ddr 266 cls 2.5 but the computer doesen't start and a listen a about 6 long beep

can you help me ?

Insert just the 256MB memory module.
If the system still does not boot up, then either the module is not compatible with your system, or it's bad.

If the 256MB module works by itself, then switch slots for the modules.
If no luck, then go into BIOS, and increase the DDR voltage a notch.
