Strange email issue

I have a user that is sending mail via MS Office Outlook 2000 SR-1 that is reporting a strange message. He indicated that he is sending email to a couple of users but that other users not included on his email are receiving the message.

It sounds like a virus but I've run Norton 2003 with the latest update and still have no virus on the local machine. Does anyone have any any input on this matter?

What am I looking for? There are distribution lists in our "Company Contacts" list but that is not how this particular email was addressed. It was specific to certain users on our "Company Contacts" list not a distribution list.
