hi,
some people in my office (on windows 2000 & 98) notice that our computers are storing our search queries when we use Google. When we hold down the left mouse button over the textfield where you enter your search string, it displays all previous searches that were ever entered into the field, regardless of shut downs, clearing history, cookies, etc. We're baffled and wondering what's going on, and how to clear this off our machines. Any insight would be appreciated.

In Internet Explorer, go to tools > Internet Options > Content Tab > Autocomplete Tab. Uncheck the box for forms. Cheers!!
