storagetek 4490 controller 1

Trying to find out if a STK 4490 tape controller will support 4480 tape transports. Need to be Escon.

The 4480 is 18trk and the 4490 is 36trk. I do know the 4490 can read tapes written on by a 4480...but that's about it.
