We have 'inherited' a SBS 2003 server that is running Exchange and IIS. These services are no longer required but I need to keep the server up as a DC.

Can I just stop the services for Exchange and IIS or is there more to it?

Thanks

well there is an option to un-tick the IIS component in Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components>Application Server>Details...>

There is also the option to un-tick 'Message Queuing'.

Not that I've ever done this though.

Cheers

Run the SBS setup in the Add/Remove programs applet and in the SBS options selections, remove those which would rely on Exchange and IIS to function. Then disable those services if they are not actually installed. SBS is weird this way, so I'd do it like I described.

Keep in mind that IIS is used for Remote Web Workplace, and other features.

Don't just stop the IIS services.

As for Exchange, yes, you can set the services to disabled and stop them.
