We have a native 2003 AD network so we have disabled wins as a result when we browse the network we do not see any servers or workstations. Can you tell me why and how to resolve this

Many thanks

I feel silly asking this, but after you disabled WINS, did you reboot the servers?

Hi and thatnks for responding, No I have not re booted the servers how ever we have re booted a couple of hundred work stations and we still do not see those.

Do the workstations see the servers?

No one sees the servers most PC's see only the units on their subnet

You're probably gonna have to re-boot the servers. Something as major as disabling wins is going to have a major affect on them. Have you checked the event logs for wins? They're probably showing error messages because they don't know what's going on. Good luck. (Oh, just because all servers are 2003 does not mean you don't need wins. Do you have any of the older workstations?)
