My server is setup with 2 nics, both with different ip's (no load balancing) one i call "server" the other i call "proxy". The server address has tcp/ip, file and print sharing, dns, wins, dhcp, and iis setup on it (main adaptor) the other is setup to do email and internet (proxy connection). The problem i am having is i call the second one "proxy" and i have already defined it in the dns table for the domain as proxy and when i do a nslookup for proxy i get the correct ip address (192.168.0.2), but when i do a lookup for the "server" connection (192.168.0.1) i get 192.168.0.2, 162.168.0.1, 216.258.111.11 <--being dynamic internet connection. I have unchecked from both adaptors "Register this connection's addrsses in DNS" for all adaptors in the system. I delete the unwanted dns entries, but they reappaear almost immedieatly, even after i change the serial number, reload, bam there they are again. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
James

well it seems that your "proxy" is having as DNS the local DNS also. That cold be the only reason why "proxy" it is registerd in the DNS.
Also, your DNS should be configured as running just on the "server" interface.
Have a look in your DNS domain. See the registrations.
Also who has the address "..0.2"?
What is the address pool used by your DHCP?

Thats it!! (The part about binding the dns to only one of the ip's "server") The address pool used by dhcp is ..0.5 (for expandability later) to ..0.50. Dhcp is setup to point the dns, wins, etc to the server only (except for smtp, and a few others that need to point to the other ip)

Thanks GiaBetiu
