Stoping Duplicate email downloading in outlookexpress

we installed new e-mail gateway. All outlook express users are using leave a copy on server option. Now when they change to new POP3 address and click send receive will getting their old mail agin from exchange server. How do we stop downloading previous mail to outlook express with changed POP3 settings. Apprecite tips.

You may be able to uncheck the box that says "include this account when sending and receiving". In Outlook Express 6, this is under internet accounts, mail tab, properties button, general tab.

What? Do you have 2 mail accounts setup in Outlook Express? If not, ignore jenlion's post.

I don't see how Outlook Express could still be receiving mail from that other server, if it is no longer specified. Remove and reinstalled the mail account settings, see if that resolves it.

Here is the story in detail. Same exchange server but we are moving from existing POP3\SMTP IP address to new IP addresses. Now we have two POP3\SMTP IP address\names thats is existing and new. we want to close SMTP and POP3 ports on Old IP's. I tried changing new IP's on outlook express POP and SMTP and when I click send receive its downloading all old mail sitting on excahange serevr again. Our aim is to get only new mail. Appreciate your responses.
