My original BSOD code was 0x011012f for which I could find no English translation for.. (old POST = Partition Magic Error 100) I seemed to get it when I as deleting an OLD file from my External USB/Firewire HDD. So that I could get work done, I disconnnected the external drive, hoping to get back to the error later when I hooked the ext HDD up, but that was not the answer.

I am now getting stop codes of oxo19 (Bad_Pool_Header) very frequently. (Starting a program, accessing this site, doing nothing).

I have run antivirus, SCANDISK /f and memtest86-3.2. There are no ! or ? in diskmanager. system event log has no entries for the past 4 hours (HMMMM) and before that it had an error RE: ATI WMD.

I keep getting a pop up for ISUS.MSI which I have been ignoring. would this be related?

Any suggestions of what to try next?

Other Blue Screen of Death workarounds
Other possible workarounds are to remove all plug-in hardware, particularly network adapters, which often cause a BAD_POOL_HEADER blue screen of death. If that's not enough, you may have to use the recovery console to disable their drivers or any potentially offending drivers. If that's still not enough, begin to disable services, beginning with the indexing service."

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
