I'm trying to get rid of a slight delay when opening a form with two subforms on it. I've tried all the advice in help and in other threads to no avail.

I have noticed is that if I set the subforms Data Entry to Yes then the delay is removed. This is because Access no longer reads the underlying tables (which are quite large). However the subforms were not designed for this.

So is there any other way I can get the subforms to do "nothing" on open?

thanks

You could try removing the SourceObject from the subforms in design view and set it when the main form has opened and you are ready.

Hope this helps.
