I had to install a TV-Tunner card without its drivers (long story). My question is: how can I get the Hardware Wizard to stop telling me to install the tv-tunner drivers.

Thanks in advance,

JDL

Let it install.
Use Device Manager to view the properties of the device.
Under the Driver tab, not the drivers involved.
Delete them in Explorer.

I'm still recovering from a severe tendonitis, this is why I am so reluctant to get into the "long story" explaining why I shouldn't install these drivers.
Please take my word for it. I spent almost all day yesterday just troubleshooting the IRQs, moving the PCI card from one slot to another, removing other cards, installing the drivers and then the softw, uninstalling it again, and start again...
Just when I had pretty much given up, the previous owner explained to me that for this card to work I had not to install the drivers (apparentely the conflict is between the drivers and the software itself, not other cards).
The company originally made this card for Win98 & ME. They released software for Win2k & XP but as a favor, so it's not supported.

Back to the removal part...
I have noticed that while I cannot disactivate the drivers or similar, I can go to the properties of the driver and remove what it's called "Net-TV98 Capture Driver".
I made a little screenshot you can see here:

But wouldn't this affect its functionality? In another words, would this keep me from seeing anything in the software screen?

Thanks in advance,

JDL

Use Device Manager to view the properties of the device.
Under the Driver tab, note the drivers involved.
Delete them in Explorer.

You can always do a Search for the driver name(s) as well, and delete them or rename them from the Search screen.

Step #1, let Windows install the device the next time it asks.

Step #2, follow up by removing the device drivers. This will obviously keep the drivers from loading, but will also keep Windows from prompting to install the device.
