Hi I've got 2 computers connected together through a crossover cable and I share 1 ISDN dialup connection between the two.

My problem arises when my connection seems to terminate itself after the monitor turns off. I've programmed the screen to turn off after an hour and the connection disconnects itself soon after.

This is quite annoying as I want the connection to remain on all the time, this also occurs with the computer with the ISDN connection. Can i kill 2 birds with 1 stone here?

Thanks for the help.

well the power feature for the main computer is located in the control pannel > power options

monitor power / sleep settings are in the display settings
control pannel > display > screen saver tab > button marked power at the bottom of the window in the "monitor power" area....

I'm having a brain fart as to if ISDN uses lan or modem but I do know that if you go into the device manager....
Right click my computer > properties > Hardware tab > device manager....

if you double click ( or go to properties ) of your modem or nic there should be a "power management" tab... sometimes there is a setting that reads "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" .. and that would be bad :] you may want to disable that

OK I hope that helps ya...
keep up the fight!
