Iam putting together a simple stock/order db, is there a way off adding up in a table, i have a field called QTY and a field COST and one called COST IN STOCK the cost in stock needs to = QTY*COST i cant find a way for the table to do this.

Also can the table keep a running record of toatl cost in stock or does this have to be doen with a query.

thanks

Normally calculations are done in queries rather than storing the information in the table, same with your running total. Why do you need to store in it the table?

Thanks for the reply i thought that was the case, use queries, you have just confirmed it for me.

Many thanks.
