Hi hope some one can help.

I using still image in premiere 6 for titles and this like that. But when i in port them in to the time line it as the red bit saying that it needs to be rended. so i rendor work area but when i do that if changes the quality of the image.

And i dont know what to do.

I have used
.tiff
.jpg
.bmp
.eps

file formats but it all does the same thing.

thanks

If you size or crop your stills in a graphics package like paintshop pro to 720x576 (PAL) renering should not change the appearance greatly.

If you use Motion in Premiere 6.x (or earlier), the clip is scaled to frame size FIRST, then motion is applied. So zooming in then looks pixelated, even though the source might be much bigger than the frame size.

Could it be that you are using the zoom in Motion? If so, try the Transform or Image Pan effects instead, since these retain full resolution of the source.

Premiere Pro does not suffer from this problem - Motion (much better!) retains full resolution and is therefore much more useful for panning across stills etc.
