Platform: Windows 2000
Software: MS Office 2000
Network: dual Gigahertz processors
Users: 7 Terminal Server users, 40+ Standalone systems
Layout: BE: Tables FE: Forms,Queries, Reports, Modules

Circumstance: Two or more people accessing the same database but going into different tables/queries, etc...

Getting the error "You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time."

Due to necessary personnel using the Terminal Servers, we NEED multiple access / modification to the same database (of course, not the same table/record)... Access 97 could do this, why am I having such a hard time getting Access 2000 to work?

Thanks in advance,

I had this same problem in my office. The problem was that during the installation of Access 2000 all the individual workstations defaulted to opening databases in the exclusive mode. We fixed it by doing the following steps on each workstation.

Open access…go to Tools/options/advanced…..make sure that the shared button is selected. Additionally make sure this is done on the server side.

I hope this helps. It worked for us
