Still Freezing

Computer mouse pointer and keyboard still regularly freeze. Only way to recover is reboot. Using msconfig I have disabled all programs that run in the background except explorer and systray. Latest freeze was whilst running disk defragmenter. It was the only program running other than explorer and systray.

I just cannot figure it out Can you?
 
It could be a couple of things...

Did you recently add a USB card? Maybe it was one of the ones that was recalled. If you have a mouse hooked up to it, try using a regular ps2 one.

Do you have the newest version of bios for your motherboard?

Do you think that the mouse/keyboard ports could have been reversed?

Maybe there is not enough of space between expansion cards. A 3-D graphics card needs more free space for airflow. System could be heating up too quick.
