Still doesn't work (creating PDF from quark)

I have tried every printer from the chooser, I have tried Jaws PDF creator as well as distiller, I have tried creating a straight PDF from Quark but the pages still come out awful. Half of the pages are much lighter than they should be and half of them you can't even make out because there is a layer of fragmentation in front of them. Any more ideas???? I'm on a mac

Could you send me a copy of the quark file, and a copy of the PDF?

Are all the pictures updated ok? If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.
