do i take those 4 sticky foam things off when i first buy my AMD socket A cpu? and theres a green sticker tag on it that says "void if removed" on the cpu...should i remove it?
thanks

NO! and NO! The pads help you mount the heatsink on it and kepp it a little more stable. The sticker, is a reference number for the product that was put on in order to track the chip so that if it is faulty you can send it back to the supplier and they'll give you a new one under warrenty. Without it, there's no proof that you bought the chip from them, or how old the chip is. So it's best to leave the pads and the sticker on.

Hope that helped! :)

would it make it hotter if i take the sticky foam things off? how come i know many people who take the foam thingys off?

No it won't make any temp difference, it just helps to stabalise the heatsink for when you mount it on there. Some people think they're just packing so do remove them and there processor leads a long and happy life. But just to be safe, you'll be better leaving them on.
