Is there a way to stop/restart a cold patch on a media server? There's one patching that I did that prematurely stopped and the result was that it was stuck in an "activating" status where I can't do an update_deactivate on it. It even won't budge after restarts of the server.

if you try the web based GUI, what can you do or what does it say?

I've experienced the problem in the past. Two ways to fix the issue. Get Avaya to fix the problem, or re-image the system and restore your backup.

PBXTech, it indicates in the software version that the cold patch was still "activating" as I've stated. I'm not sure of its effect when this LSP becomes active, though.

PHQNEMAN, yes looks like I would have to re-image the system. The only problem is its a plane ride away from where I am :(

hi n25

how are you doing?

Have you fixed this issue? This a known issue look at PSN001160r2

And load patch 13336

I have a copy of the watch if you want it, let me know.

Thanks

Jon

Haven't got to work on it yet as I was assigned on a different project. Will get back to you guys once I work on it again.

I have tried this on an LSP. The things is, i cannot stop it. Its like it freezes it self onto the memory.

I did remaster the S8300 since it is an LSP

I also had this happen on an S8700. I had to have Avaya fix it because I couldn't afford the downtime and it was a plane ride away. I don't think there was any service interruption when they did it.
