How can I enable permanently the status bar in Windows Explorer / Internet Explorer?

Thanks for the help!

Open Explorer.

Turn on the status bar.

Go to Tools>Folder Options.

Select the View tab.

Hit the Apply to All Folders button, then OK.

That should do it!

Every once in awhile, you might have to reset this, Windows loses track of your view settings on occasion.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Another way to try and force window settings is to do a control + X to close the window.

Set the status bar to be viewed, then hold the control button down and use the mouse to click the X at the top right of the window. This should force the window to keep the view settings.
