Status 71 when files do exists

I am getting a status 71 telling me no files exists but the files do exists and have been backed up in the past. Have double checked the path and spelling.

does the path ever change before backups?

i had problems with one server where we were mounting and unmounting disks to a win server several hours before a backup. the disks would be there at the time of the backup but i guess were not, when NB goes and does its pre-scan of the client. i think by default, it does a pre-scan 4 hours before the schedule but you can change this value.
