Suppose I have a table on SQL server that doesn't need to update, only for querying (a DSS), and it is indexed. Is it still useful to create statistics for it? How about update statistics? Thanks! Please visit my WebCam!!

Statistics question.....

It is useful to create statistics, but since the table doesn't change you shouldn't need to manually update statistics. SQL Server may itself gather additional statistics based on queries. Robert Bradley
