Station Lock

Howdy,

Running CM 5.2

Looking to add Station Lock button to 9608 phone.
In doing so, I want to be able to lock down the phone completely; no internal or external calls.

When I program the button, it doesn't block anything. I can still make all kinds of calls.

I added a feature access code for this as well, along with the deactivation code, but that doesn't seem to work at all.
I dial *22 to activate, I just get dial tone.
I dial *23 to deactivate, just dial tone.

I used that in conjunction with the station lock button as well, and nothing worked.
I still have to press # then the security code of the phone, and # again to deactivate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the feature description and implementation guide? I've never used it beyond time of day station lock.

Does the set have console permissions? That can sometimes cause you to need to enter the feature code+ the extension to activate for. Unlocking might need the feature code+password.

Or, logout the phone entirely

To lock phone from outgoing and incoming, you may want to use "psa"
You need to go to support.avaya.com and find your software version and lookup
(PSA) Personal Station Access and (TTI) Terminal Translation Initialization

Detailed description of Station Lock

This section provides a detailed description of the Station Lock feature.
With the Station Lock feature, users can lock the telephone to prevent others
from placing outgoing calls from the telephone.

A user with an analog telephone uses a feature access code (FAC) to lock the
telephone. A user with a digital telephone can use a feature access code (FAC)
or a feature button to lock the telephone. Station Lock:
- Blocks unauthorized outgoing calls
- Allows outgoing emergency calls
- Allows incoming calls
The feature button lights when the user presses the button to activate Station
Lock. Then, when a user attempts to place an outgoing call, the system generates
a special dial tone to indicate that the Station Lock feature is active.

If a digital telephone has a feature button for Station Lock, but uses a FAC to
activate the feature, the LED lights. The system does not generate the special
tone.

If a digital telephone does not have a feature button for Station Lock, and uses
a FAC to activate the feature, the system generates the special tone.

Avaya recommends that a user of a digital telephone use a Station Lock button,
instead of a FAC, to activate Station Lock.
Any user who knows the system-wide FAC for Station Lock, and the Station
Security Code (SSC) of a specific telephone, can lock or unlock the telephone.

A user can also lock or unlock a telephone from a remote location.
The attendant console can lock or unlock other telephones. The attendant console
cannot be locked.

If a user has COS with console permissions and uses dial codes to activate and
deactivate the station lock feature:

Dial:
activate: dial *22, station, then #, then station security-code, then #
deactivate: dial *23, station, then #, then station security-code, then #

Station Security Code is administered on the station form

But when using the STATION-LOCK button, I am still able to dial out and receive calls, internally and externally.

Why not just set-up a COR to block incoming and outgoing calls and only allow internal calls within your organization. That would be much easier than trying to lock down each phone. You could just do a massive COR change to the extensions you would like.

Could do that.
But we are trying to not limit the phone at all times, hence the station lock, just to block it when an unauthorized user attempts to use the phone

When you use "status station xxxx" do you show Station Lock Active? yes or TOD Station Lock: yes
