Static Charge

We have now had 3 Nortel 1140e phones knocked out apparently by static charges when the employee touches the phone. The phones continue to work but the display is blank. Anyone else having this problem?

try earthing your employee get one of those things for your car and attach it to his arse. Rubber boots or change of carpet.

Got about 9k phones on network I look after and yet to see that.

they also sell anti-static spay for carpet.. does unplugging the set give your display back?

Unplugging the set doesnt get the display back. I have suggested some kind of antistatic spray. Thanks

Static mats for under the chairs will help. Especially those that roll around alot.
