Where can I add a startup script for an application in freebsd, since it does not have the inittab file, thanks for your help.

Note that scripts in rc.d are called on startup with a parameter 'start' and also called on shutdown with 'stop' so be sure you check for that and don't try to restart everything just before shutdown.
