Hello all,

One of my computers doesn't work anymore. I can hear that he's starting but my screen doesn't show a thing. The screen works fine on another computer.
The computer doesn't give me a signal and all the led's are burning when I start my computer. I already tried to change my videocard but this didn't give me the solution was searching for :'(

what can the problem be here?

thanks in advance...

Try makings sure that the RAM, CPU and video card are all seated firmly and that the contacts on the RAM and video card are clean. Also make sure that the motherboard is flexing at all inside the case. I've seen that be the culprit of many computers. Enkrypted

doesn't work anymore? when did it last work and what has happened between then and now (added/removed hardware/software, major crash, virus attack)? Has this behaviour happened before?

If you remove the Video, Sound, mouse and keybooard then switch on you should at least get something on the screen. Then you will know that you must use a process of elimination to find the fault. Also, check the HDD connections. I recently had to replace a IDE strap when my HDD wouldn't respond.

I don't really think you are likely to get anything on the screen if you remove the video card!

I usually remove everything EXCEPT video, cpu and RAM, not forgetting all drives and even motherboard connectors except the power switch and take it from there All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

Check if your keyboard and mouse are connected in the correct PS2 connection. Try to remove your mouse and then restart. Also make sure your VGA-cable (monitor cable) doesn't touch the iron of the pc case.

Kvoguy did you get it fixed? Please keep us updated. If you strip it to the cpu, motherboard, memory, power supply and video card do you get any video on the monitor? If you take the memory out do you get any beeping noises? Have you cleared the cmos by popping the battery out for a minute while it's unplugged? These are just suggestions.
Hope this helps.

I didn't fixed it jet! I have something more important to do today and yesterday. but tomorrow I will follow all of your good idea's and hope that this can fix my problem.
Thanks...

Most definetly a RAM problem. Is the machine beeping upon startup i.e. post errors of quick beeps?

Good Luck
