Hi,
I've installed win2000 pro on my computer, when i boot up all i get is the computer brand name on the screen which is normal for this to happen but that's all it does. I have to keep pressing a key for the comp to ask me if i want to press F1 to continue or F10 for setup?.If i leave the comp alone then i'm left with the computer brand screen and that's all. Can anyone shine any light on my problem?

How old is the CMOS battery?

And How much RAM do you have?
Hope I was of some help...

The computer is a year and a half old it's a PIII 600Mzh and has 128Mb ram. The computer has always been find up until win2000 pro was installed.

when i get the brand name screen and press a key i'm asked to select F1 to carry on or F10 to enter setup...if i press F1 the computer boots up no problem....F10 gets me to setup....i've saved last good configuration but the prblen persists.

angryfruitsalad;

Call it coincidence, voodoo, or just "one of those things", but I'm leaning toward it being the CMOS battery.
