Anyone have this problem?
When I first boot up my puter and the start VFP it takes sometimes over 2 minutes for the VFP application to open up. Once it's open for the first time, used and closed, it opens in seconds thereafter, of course until I reboot my puter again.
Running Windows 2000 professional OS.
p.s. I have another maching running XP Professional and there is no issue with this on VFP.

John,
Any chance your startup includes referencing an un-mapped network drive (i.e. an UNC referenced file)? I've got an application that does that and it responds just like this.

Also, do you have your project on auto-open, are using SourceSafe and have a virus checker running?

We have had issues using SourceSafe with our virus software whereby when you open a project the virus software jumps in and checks every file associated with the project. In our case this can delay opening the project for about 10 mins!! So if you have the project opening when you open VFP this could cause a delay.

Pull your network cable out of your machine before running VFP and see if it makes any difference.

I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours...

Thanks for your suggestions!

I work with DBF's from a network. The Fox Pro software application is loaded locally on my machines. I will check and see if the virus checker is causing a problem.

I think rgbean is on the right track. I also suspect it is a network resource issue that is being resolved the first time (with overhead) and then it works fine.
