Good morning,
Is there any reason I can't or shouldn't program the IP500 with short codes starting with #?
The standard codes start with * but there are no predefined ones that start with #. I don't believe there are any Telco codes that the user would press # to access on picking up the phone on the IP Office.
I know that # has a special meaning in the Telephone Number field of the short code record, where it is used with Voicemail Collect action to indicate a mailbox deposit. There does not appear to be any special meaning of # in the Short Code field itself.
We are looking at having two short codes for voicemail, one for Collect and one for Deposit, the difference being that one starts with # and one starts with * and they are also integrated with the # and * on the AA.
Thanks
