Hi,

Windows server 2K3

I have a program that runs in the background that conflicts with BackupExec as they both run on Port 10000. There are no options to change the port on the program.

Althought BackupExec allows you to change the port, our corporate policy would not allow it as we have too many servers that are configured and as a result is a standard.

The good news is that backupexec only needs to run at night so i can start and stop the service and the conflicting program only needs to run during the day.

The issue is that I would like to start the exe program as user system instead of the current user that's logged in. If I just run the exe then it opens a dos box that just sits there, however I can see that its doing what its suppose to be doing. I would like to just run it in the background without any user account being logged on.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Ken

Have you tried scheduling it in Scheduled Tasks and specifing the user account it should run on?
