Hi all,

We operate a Win2003 server and Citrix server. One of the problems is that sometimes the Printer Spooler service stops and thus anybody that logs on to the citrix server doesen't have any printers.

What I would like to do is when a user logs on to Citrix have a script or a batch file run that starts the services on the Citrix server. Could this be achieved using a Group Policy? Is there any other way of doing this.

I have tried using vbscripts and the sc.exe command using batch files but when I try to get them to run when the user logs on it comes up with Access Denied or cant find the server.

Does anybody know of a way to remote start services if loging on to the server using Citrix or remotley.

Thanks

Anthony

Can't you just set the print spooler service to automatically restart if it fails, crashes, or whatever..

Just hit the properties of the print spooler server and check out the Recovery tab. Set them all too 'Restart the Service' and the 'Restart the service after this much time' to 0.

As far as I know, there can only be one spooler service running at one time. Actually, i've never even heard of two or more print spoolert services on one machine.. ???

Thanks for your reply. The services were already set to restart. I am not sure why they stop every now and then. Hopefully it wont happen again.
