hum... what are you trying to do exactly.
Start access on it's own doesn't help you unless you intend to do something with it, so please give us more details.

Yes you can (look up the Shell function). As Fredrico says however (or implies at least,) Access will run as an independent application and it's activities won't be observable from VB.

Do you want to run Access or do you want to use an Access (i.e. JET) database in VB?

I want to make and send(email)a lot of reports with access97.
So I will start this application on a server (schedule) but I don't want logon at the server.
