Start menu problems 1

Hello.

The section of the start menu that lists the last X used programs doesnt seem to be working anymore. I do not remember changing anything that would cause this. I have tried incrementing the amount of programs it lists but this did not work, i have tried clearing the list so it can start again but this didnt work. Any ideas?

1. Start, run, sfc /Scannow

You want in particular to make sure UXTHEME.dll is replaced from the XP distribution disk;

2. right-click a blank area of the desktop, Properties, Themes. Select "Windows Classic"

3. You may have to reinstall XP to fix the problem completely.

bcastner! Now when I right-click my desktop, properties and click on the Desktop tab, I get an error! Memory at
0x00000000 can't be read!

Memory addresses in the 0x000000 range are the BIOS jump table. 0x0 if I rememer right is a non-maskable interrupt jump table entry for RAM refresh.
