I followed the directions in windows 98 help but cannot seem to remove aol instant messenger from the start menu. The im application doesn't even appear in the list of programs. How might I remove such an application.
Thank you in advance. bt.

START>RUN and type regedit. Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRENTVERSION>RUN. It may be listed right there. Also try HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRENTVERSION>RUN. Try those and see if its in there. If not let me know. James Collins

To remove AOL Instant Messenger from the START menu: RIGHT click ON a blank part of the TASK BAR. Choose Properties. When the window opens select the Start Menu Programs TAB and click the Advanced button. This will open a Window that looks just like Windows Explorer only with the shortcuts for everything in your START menu. There, navigate to the AIM icon and delete it. Click OK out and the thing is gone from the START menu. :)
