I just installed a new hard drive in my machine. Partitioning, formatting, OS install (98se)...all went fine.

Except for one thing.

If I go to a blank area of the desktop and left-click, the Start menu will come up. And it doesn't just come up from the taskbar as though I had hit the Windows button--it appears at the mouse cursor.

It's not really a major thing...I'm more curious than anything else...

I know there are certain bits of software that will do this. It's NOT a windows "feature", or bug. What software have you installed lately?
Diamond video card drivers have this thing included in the installer... Cheers,
Jim

Sounds like it's probably the Diamond software (Viper 550). I haven't installed a lot on it yet--really a shame actually, 40GB and I haven't tried to fill it up yet.

Thanks for the tip!
