Stange Behavior

I have a control that I built that uses a combo box to display the letters A-Z. The control lists medical tests and the user selects a letter A-Z to view the items. It works perfectly well when testing the control on a form. I place the control in my main program where it is to be used and it starts acting strange. When you click on the arrow of the combo box, it pops open and displays the letters and will only stay open as long as you hold down the left mouse button. The second you let the button go, it closes back to its default state. It only does this when I drop it in the main program. I have no events in the main program that act on the combo box so I can figure out what is happening. Any ideas on this one?

We will need some code to find the problem but I'm guessing something is different between the two.
