Standard Windows Fonts

Hi All,

I am try to find a web site that defines what the standard windows fonts are for all windows machines in the world, irrespective of language.

I have tried Microsoft's web site but couldn't find anything.

I want to know because our company has written an English application and we were wondering what font we should use so that any user on any machine can use it.

I have heard before that Century, Arial etc. are standard but I would like to see it formally stated.

If anyone knows of a site which states this please let me know.

What versions of Windows OS do you intend to support?
Are you writing to the MUI or to localized OS versions?
Is your application going to force localization or use the defaults?
Does your application change the Common Dialogue Windows, or implements its own?
How do you intend to handle printing?

In answer to your questions:-

We intend to write for Windows XP professional.

Basically at the moment all I really need is a statement of what standard English fonts are guaranteed to be on all windows machines.

I am not really concerned at the moment with the Common Dialog boxes or Printing, I am just trying to find out what standard fonts worldwide are available on all machines.

eg Do all machines have Arial, Century etc.

Ideally I would like to find a web page where Microsoft themselves state that the fonts are common. Then I can show this to my boss and he will get off my back so I can then start work on the real issues that you brought up.
