Recently we had to do a DR on our exchange 5.5 server and ever since the server was brought back online we've had several users see email in their inbox but have been unable to oepn the item. The email they see is mail that was received at the time the server went down. the DR had to come for a previous nights backup so about a half day of mail was lost. Anyway, this causes outlook to throw an error and they are unable to remove the item from their inbox.
Other than emails being stuck in their inbox everything else is working as it should. Are there any suggestions or KB articles that someone can refer me to so that i can address this issue and get those stale emails removed? Would a defrag of the database help in this situation?
