Hi All,
Just started using the visual studio 2008 module - report writing in particular, and have a few queries.

Can anyone point me in the write direction for some tutorials or help on writing parameters?

I have to add several to a report for users to be able to filter the data BUT need to code in the specific values they need to select from.
For example, my client data to be retrieved from the database needs to allow users to filter based on the first digits of their postcode - users are designated an area, i.e. one might deal with DN5 + DN6 postcodes, whilst another just DN12, and another still DN8, DN9 and DN10.

The second filter needs to identify the support level of the client, 1,2 or 3, so expanding on it, user might have levels 1's in DN5 and DN6, whilst user 2 might have levels 2 and 3 in DN8, DN9 and DN10

Am i making any sense with this? I have tried to specify this in the parameter of the report - label will say "North level 1's" and the expression is where i tried to specify the critera as mentioned above.

Any suggestions? or pointers to guides on the internet would be brill

Thanks

Nicola

There is a great site that has lots of tutorials. You can view some of them for free, but if you want to view more, it is $30 per month. These tutorials, however; are good quality with a lot of info.

Here is the site:

Don't worry, it is not my site and I don't get anything for telling you. I think it is a good quality site.

for any personal security products.
